OVERVIEW

Ogma is a person-to-person bookstore app concept that allows people to buy, sell or trade books with other readers anywhere. No companies are allowed, we handle the virtual transactions and the user gets a slick social media profile to showcase their books. Ogma was made for my graduation project in college alongside my good friend Vitor Palu.

// The challenge and solution

How can we give readers a new way to recycle their old books, get new ones and be excited about reading again?

In Brazil, books are often expensive and some topics such as medicine, science and technology are really hard to find. A lot of people have books at home that they don't even touch anymore.

Ogma offers an opportunity for those people to either capitalize on that by selling their books or to continue their reading journey by trading books inside the platform.

At Ogma, companies are not allowed to participate. This is our way to encourage more trading than selling. Our goal after all is not to make a bunch of sales, but rather make people see how easy it is to acquire a book and learn something new or discover a new story.

// Comment from one of my teachers

"What Junior and Vitor created was a beautiful concept to empower education in Brazil. Clear, easy to use and strong value proposition".
